“When people ask for help and no one responds, things go wrong. Individuals suffer, communities break down, and yet we keep asking the same question: what went wrong? TRACE exists to step in when others don’t — to be there when it matters most.”
TRACE is structured to reflect the society we serve — democratic, inclusive, and participatory. Power is shared and every voice matters. We are a community-led organisation, built for the community, by the community.
TRACE is guided by a diverse board of directors — some who oversee operations, and others who provide expert advice. Our advisory directors are renowned leaders in trauma-informed care, security, and mental health. Together, they help steer TRACE toward its mission of building lasting community resilience.
Partnerships with local organisations are at the heart of what we do. By working together, we are able to build holistic support networks that respond to the full spectrum of participants’ needs. Our partners play an active role in shaping our practice, contributing to interventions, and fostering environments where individuals feel safe, supported, and meaningfully connected to diverse cultural, spiritual, and ideological perspectives. We deeply value the expertise and care that community organisations bring — and we believe that lasting change is only possible when we create it together.
TRACE is guided by not one, but two independent oversight committees — ensuring transparency, accountability, and community trust at every level.
Our Ethical Review Board regularly evaluates our performance and impact. This board holds the authority to freeze or release funding based on whether key safeguarding, effectiveness, and community-trust benchmarks are met.
Alongside this, our Reverse-Monitoring Committee places power directly in the hands of those we serve. Comprised of local residents, this grassroots panel provides independent scrutiny of our work, ensuring that community voices remain central to everything we do.
Together, these oversight bodies assess our practices and accountability structures, helping ensure that TRACE stays deeply responsive to local norms, concerns, and lived realities.
Everything we do is centred on delivering services of the highest quality. Our specialist teams bring together a diverse range of expertise in intervention work — from social workers and public officials to researchers and former participants. This unique blend of perspectives ensures our approach remains grounded, credible, and responsive to the complexities of real-world challenges.
Anyone can find themselves in need of support — and at TRACE, we’re here when they do. Many who complete our programme choose to give back, using their experiences to help others. Through our Former Partnership Scheme, we support these individuals to take on meaningful roles in community education and to contribute directly to the ongoing development of our intervention programmes. Their insight is invaluable in shaping approaches that are grounded, effective, and human.
At TRACE, transparency and fairness are at the heart of everything we do. We offer clear, honest pricing — with no hidden fees or unexpected charges. Our open-door policy means customers are welcome to observe our work and request progress updates at any time. Everyone’s voice matters, and we’re committed to working collaboratively to find the right solutions. Join us in building stronger, more resilient communities. Learn more at trace.scot.
